From concept to commercialization
Top Zeven supports many clients in creating the right mesh solution, from concept to commercialization. We gladly explore various out-of-the-box concepts not previously tested and are open to developing new applications. With more than 25 years of experience, we guarantee to effectively advise our customers on their product development issues.
For being able to determine the right mesh solution, we would like to hear more about it:
- The intended function of the mesh. Intended for filtering, supporting, separating or ?
- Where and how the mesh will be used. This helps determine, for example, wire diameter, mesh opening, open area and thickness. Finally, proper mesh is also environment-dependent; think temperature and chemical resistance.
Trial-and-error
We have already arrived at good solutions with many customers. Often a trial-and-error process is initiated in which the optimal mesh choice is finally determined via the testing of samples.
The Ocean Cleanup
A good example of such a trial-and-error process is the project with The Ocean CleanUp. The Ocean CleanUp aims to make oceans free of plastic particles. From the beginning of this project, Top Zeven has provided mesh from which large trawl nets were made that could be used to determine the size of the plastic particles that make up the polluting plastic soup. In 2015, through crowdfunding, The Ocean CleanUp was able to set up global expeditions to conduct research in all oceans using Top Zeven’s trawl nets to determine the nature, size, location and concentration of plastic particles.
