Production of composites using extruded mesh

Extrusion mesh, or extruded mesh, is widely used in the production of composites (e.g., shipbuilding or wind turbine blades).

The mesh is placed in a mold and distributes the resin over the entire surface. The resin is introduced through a vacuum infusion process after which the specific structure of the mesh ensures optimal “flow” and lamination. Factors such as working temperature(meshes in PA, PBT, EVA are also available), required flow capacity, required flow speed, “waste resin” (resin remaining in the mesh upon removal) and flexibility/elasticity (LDPE!), determine the type of mesh/net to be used.
