Flat knits and circular knits
Top Zeven also supplies knitted gauze. Two types of knitted gauze (knits) can be distinguished: flat knits and circular knits. Knits for technical applications are distinguished by their high elasticity and open structure.
Applications knitted mesh
Knitted mesh is applied ter/if:
– Protection: a circular-knitted copper mesh knit, for example, can protect cables from “Electro Magnetic Interference ” (EMI-shielding)
– Support medium. the round sock is wrapped around a cable after which it is injected with resin. The open structure of the mesh is filled with the quick-drying resin, forming an impenetrable, protective harness.
– Reinforcement: the sock is laid flat and filled with an elastic resin. The highly elastic knit, together with the resin, forms an elastic wrap band which is used to protect surfaces from corrosion.
