High quality flow mesh / flow mesh
For making composites (via vacuum injection or pressure injection), Top Zeven supplies a range of high-quality flow-through mesh/flow-mesh types. These meshes are used during vacuum injection to guide the resin, evenly and at a certain speed, over the entire surface of the composite to be molded.
When is flow-through netting suitable
Flow-through mesh is used in a variety of situations, such as when the composite product covers a large surface area, or when the technique used to manufacture a particular composite product calls for using less flowable mats in the casting mold . In such cases, it may be necessary to increase the horizontal flowability of the mold by applying flow-through mesh – also called net bleeder, flow mesh or flow mesh.
Epoxy resin composites in particular – as used, for example, in shipbuilding and in the manufacture of wind turbine blades – benefit from optimal flow rates. Doubling the flow time will halve the mold filling time, greatly improving the regularity of the polyester or epoxy composite structure in the final product. The use of flow-through mesh reduces processing time and downtime or repair costs.

Top Zeven’s extruded flow-through gaskets are manufactured in such a way that the resin medium is very well transported, while having optimal discharge properties and maintaining the right balance between flow capacity and resin wastage.
Especially the thickness of the flow mesh determines the flow rate; thus, this property still provides opportunities to experiment with the type of flow mesh to optimize the flow rate of the resin. Variations are available with some stiffness or, on the contrary, high flexibility, which easily adapt to a more complex mold. Some of these meshes retain their shape even at higher resin temperatures. All our flow-through meshes have undergone a degreasing process to prevent contamination of the resin medium.
